Atlanta Logo Design

There are four main types of logo designs. Each are specialized for certain aspects of a business and each do their job accordingly. Many big-name corporations and companies have also used these designs for themselves such as Apple, Adobe, Dell, or McDonalds. Each company building upon their designs for several features, one of the more common being advertisement.

Different Kinds of Logos:

Wordmark Logo Design
The most commonly used logo design is Wordmark, also known as text logo or logotype. This particular type of design is well suited for companies whose names tell what services the company offers. So basically, without the use of pictures (a.k.a. graphics) this design will use words to create a message available to the public. A Wordmark design will usually become the emblem or logo of the company/business once all creative elements are set in place and the design is made into a readable and noticeable identity. Our Atlanta logo design team will work with you to decide if a Wordmark logo is right for your company.

Examples of Popular Wordmarks
Many high-end business and companies have used this type of design as their symbol: Dell, Kellogg's, Exxon.

Choose a Wordmark when:

  • Budget is specified and is more focused upon advertisement
  • Or when the name is known but not yet common knowledge to everyone.

Lettermark Logo Design
Like a wordmark, the design known as the lettermark is without pictures (a.k.a. graphics). However, this type of design more commonly utilizes abbreviations. The most commonly known type of lettermark logo is a monogram. As with the Wordmark, this logo will generally become the emblem of the company.

  • The abbreviation is more easily noticeable than the name itself.

Brandmark Logo Design
Very different from the previous two design styles, the Brandmark type of logo is based purely upon graphics. This includes no text of any kind, but a graphic that clearly describes the symbol of the company or the company itself.

McDonald's - Arches Brandmark Symbol

  • You are looking for a symbol for your product.
  • You have grown enough to let the company’s emblem stand by itself.
  • When your budget is open enough to explain what your company means.

Iconic Logotype Design
Iconic logotype, or combination logo, has both a graphic and text. There are two different types of this logo design: integral and loose. Our Atlanta logo design team usually prefers Iconic Logotype for small businesses that have never had a logo. This design is easily seen and well liked in the business world as it provides both a feeling of the company and an emblem showing what the company is doing.
